Welcome to the homepage of the Biomathematics and Biostatistics Working Group at the University of Guelph (BioM&S). Our working group is devoted to extending the theory, techniques and applications of mathematical and statistical methods to biological problems. Group members are active in research in a wide variety of areas on scales ranging from entire ecosystems to the level of individual cells. Members supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and the working group also hosts a seminar series and an annual symposium.

This year, the BioM&S Symposium is supported by the Fields Institute and will take place on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the University of Guelph. Two invited speakers are Professor James Zidek, Department of Statistics, University of British Columbia (who will be giving the Ashton Lecture), and Professor Madhur Anand, Department of Environmental Biology, University of Guelph.
